I’m being tested. There’s only three weeks left until the Chicago Marathon.
I was planning to run 20 miles this weekend, 20 next weekend and then, well, 26.2 the weekend after.
Alas.
Yesterday my back started getting achey in the morning and by the afternoon was full blown stiff AF. I didn’t panic, I took some ibuprofen and did some light stretching.
No help.
So I went to Duane Reade for Aleve.
No help.
When I woke up this morning it was worse so I went to urgent care. The PA thinks it’s just a muscle spasm (THANK THE UNIVERSE) and gave me a shot of Toradol.
So far meh. I’m resting today and alternating heat and ice.
Obviously a 20 miler is not in the cards for tomorrow, but I’m hoping that I’ll be able to sneak one in next weekend.
