The second in my series of TCS NYC Marathon Hacks is all about the start.
So what does that include?
I figured that since the first video I did was about baggage and transportation options, I’d take you from transportation to the start of the race.
This includes navigating Fort Wadsworth, the three separate athlete villages and the starting line.
I hope you find this useful, if you have any questions, please feel free to get in touch (comment below or HMU on Twitter, IG or Facebook).

Hi! I am so happy to have found your series. This will be my third marathon, but my first time in NYC. I am definitely more nervous about the logistics than the race itself! So this has been a super resource. I wonder if you know anything about the reliability of the wave assignments. I am expecting to finish in 3:20, and I entered that upon registering for the marathon. How likely is it that I will be assigned accordingly?
Thanks for all of the tips! I have subscribed, and look forward to future posts!
Is the MTA (subway) free on race day for runners? or do I need to bring a MetroCard with me?
You need a MetroCard
