So much has been written and said about the events at the 2013 Boston Marathon, I honestly don’t think I have any new insights. It was awful and it’s going to change the face of big city marathons.
But they f’ed with the wrong people, we suffer through 26.2 miles for fun and we actually like all the training that goes into getting there, we will not be scared away.
I ran the Boston Marathon in 2012, it was the worst best days of my life and I figured that it was my one shot at the race.
And then two misguided kids changed everything.
I’ve already contacted the Dana Farber Marathon Challenge team to see if I can be on the 2014 team. After the events last week, how can I not run in the 2014 race? I’m sure demand will be high, but as an alum, I’m hoping I have a good shot of getting on the team.
I took the tragedy very personally and with nothing new to add to the discussion, I decided to put the below video together of the New York Road Runner’s race I participated in over the weekend that paid tribute to Boston.
It’s rare to see such love for Boston in New York, but as someone who grew up in Worcester, MA, it’s been awesome to see.
