In every training cycle there comes a time when it sucks.
And you beat yourself up. And you feel like you’ll never get past it. And that you’re wasting your time. And, well, you wonder why you’re doing it at all.
Last week was one of those weeks for me.
I’ve commented that I wish I could throw the week away. But with time and distance (and a good run) comes clarity.
And I think I had the week I had last week for a reason.
I need to remember that this isn’t all fun and games. That training is hard work. And that building mental toughness is just as important as building endurance and putting in the sweat (and let me tell you, I put in more than my share).
So it’s with some humility and the clarity of time that I offer you a peek into week nine training for the TCS NYC Marathon.
