I’ve decided to change it up a bit and create a video series for the TCS NYC Marathon this year.
Leading up to the 26.2 mile party on the first Sunday in November, I’m going to cover an array of topics, some that I’ve already covered like course strategy, pre-race tips, where to watch on race day and all the rest.
I’m also going to add a bunch that I’ve been thinking about for a while. Like “where’s the best place to fuel up in NYC before the race;” “The best places to do your shakeout run;” “What should make sure to do while in NYC” and more!
That’s just what’s been rattling around by head.
Let me know if you have questions!
I’ve also put out the call for questions on both Twitter and Facebook and have a bunch that need to be answered. Maybe I’ll even do a FB Live? Or a stream on YouTube as we get closer to the race.
Here’s the first in the series on baggage and transportation options.
Have any questions? As away!
So glad you are doing this again! Dirty Old Sneakers was such a help to me in 2015 (my first marathon and first NYC) and 2016. Training for 2018 NYC now — and I recommend this blog/site to my running buddies in Atlanta who have never run NY. KEEP IT GOING!! FB Live is great idea! Yes on places to prefuel! Thanks!!
Eric I’m very happy to find you this will be my 5th marathon and 1st in NY I’m very excited, do you have any idea at what time is the start for the wave of the predicted time of 4:45? I already choose my transportation at 8:00 the ferry, at what time do you think I should be at the port to take the ferry on time? Thank you for all your post.
The ferry runs every 30 minutes, it’ll be crowded when you get there, but you should be able to get on if you get there ~20 minutes before your ferry.
Thank you Eric!
Eric, do you mind to share the best way to get to the port to take the ferry, o think you mentioned that you live close to the finish line, I will be staying close to there. Thank you!
Hey Mely, I think you’re telling me that you will be staying near the finish line. If so, the best way os the subway. Take the 1 (runs down Broadway) to the South Ferry station and follow the crowd 🙂
Hi Eric, thank you for your reply I download the subway map and I see, great only one train!!
