I’m beyond thrilled that my back is 100% and I am Full Steam Ahead!
I’ll be flying out to Chicago on Friday to run my second Chicago Marathon!
I was so worried when I pulled a muscle in my back but, as I learned, I was smart about the injury – I went to my doc to get checked out, rested and burnt out a bunch of batteries on a TENS unit.
10 Mile Race Another 10 to Get Home
Yesterday I ran the NYRR New Balance Bronx 10 Miler. And did another 10 afterwards. I know it’s not super smart to run 20 miles the weekend before a marathon but I needed to get at least one 20 miler in before the race since I couldn’t do it the week before . . . well . . .
At any rate, I felt fantastic during the race, I honestly could have run at least a minute faster per mile but I needed to keep my pace down for the miles after the race. It was one of those runs where I felt like I had someone giving me a little push almost the entire way. It’s clearly a combination of my training and rest. I can’t discount the weather. For the first time, it felt like perfect conditions, high 50s at the start with zero humidity.
Anyway, it worked! And I’m heading to Chicago!!
Who will I see there?!?!
See you in Chicago!
Good Luck Eric in Chicago.
I actually thought I saw you in the corral meander, but no GoPro so I knew it wasn’t you. Congrats on a great race. I did not have the best one, but was so glad for the better weather
