Things are changing so quick it’s been making my head spin for weeks.
Just yesterday I was wondering aloud if there would be fall marathons or not and was really on the fence as to whether they would happen or not.
And last night, as I was trying to fall asleep (which doesn’t come easily to me these days), I sent out this tweet:
Not sure who needs to hear this, but you’re not running any fall marathons in 2020. I wish it weren’t true Let’s see how this tweet ages

Look, I’m no authority, I’m just another human trying to wend my way through life with a modicum of happiness and health.
And maybe a BQ.
I consider myself semi-smart about some things, pretty stupid about others and but graced with some common sense. I’m a pragmatist. That is, practical considerations guide my thinking and my beliefs more than ideals or wishes.
And herein lies the rub.
I WISH we would be able to run fall marathons that would not compromise the health and wellbeing of everyone on earth.
However, I don’t think it’s practical that it will come to be.
Let’s concentrate on how to stay motivated during this time of no racing.
More on that next week.
